Fundbox Payments

Building user trust with a transparent, real-time payments overview

Project Overview: Increasing User Confidence Through Payment Transparency

Fundbox is a financing tool that helps small businesses manage cash flow gaps by offering short-term loans based on personalized credit assessments.
  • Goal:
Enhance the product and deepen user trust in the company.
  • Background:
At the time, the product included only credit assessment and loan disbursement flows. Payment information was shared via monthly PDF statements sent by email, offering little transparency or flexibility.
  • Discovery:
I studied financial and banking products to understand standard practices for transaction visibility and statement breakdowns.
  • Hypothesis:
Empowering users with access to real-time payment data would provide peace of mind, improve transparency, and help them manage accounting and tax tasks, leading to increased trust in Fundbox and more confidence in managing their business.
  • Outcome:
100% of active customers began regularly visiting the new Payments tab after launch.

Research

Across industries—from banks to e-commerce platforms to ride-sharing apps, users expect clear, on-demand access to their financial activity. It's a foundational part of building trust.
Given our product's nature, delivering this visibility quickly became a top priority.
I analyzed how other financial tools present data, which features are most valued, and how those align with the specific needs and expectations of our small business audience.

Solution

Upcoming
A visual graph displays upcoming scheduled payments. Each dot represents a weekly installment, composed of multiple loan advances—gradually decreasing until the balance reaches zero.
Beneath the graph, a textual list shows each future payment. Users can expand a row to view a detailed breakdown of its components.
History
Users can filter past payments by year or month and check payment statuses at a glance.
Reports
A central hub for downloading any kind of report—whether for personal tracking, accounting, or tax filing.
